(1926, Universal) Jack Hoxie, Olive Hasbruck, Gilbert Holmes. An interesting, rare B western. Jack is a tough sheriff who leaves a narcotics conference in Washington DC and heads out to Frisco. There, he helps out a wealthy ranch owner who's caught in--of all things--a Chinatown rumble! Later, Jack discovers a smuggling ring, members of which are trusted personnel from within the owner's own company. Action and danger follow. Recommended. Music score, from 16mm.
